Heidi is the owner and ‘architect’ of our firm. She began her career in financial planning in 1991 as an assistant to Deborah Johnson, our company’s founder. She achieved her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 1997 and has been devoted to helping clients plan for the lives they want ever since.
One of Heidi’s earliest lessons about money was her parents saying, “If you want it, save your pennies.” It’s an approach she’s used her entire life, and one she shares often with others.
Today, Heidi leads Johnson Bixby with a clear vision and purpose – to continue building the firm to give back to the profession of financial planning and to the community.

Whether it’s the game of Gonzaga basketball or the game of personal finance, Zach is a huge fan. After making a 180- degree career change from nonprofit work to financial services, Zach is driven by the empowerment and confidence sound financial planning brings to people’s lives.
After college, Zach served as an AmeriCorps volunteer for two years in Spokane before transitioning to a Portland area nonprofit helping connect volunteers to service agencies across the Pacific Northwest.
After a budding fascination with personal finance became an obsession, he started working with a financial planning firm in Portland before joining Johnson Bixby in 2020. Zach was a member of our client services team prior to completing the requirements to become a Certified Financial Planner® professional and joining our team of planners.
Zach enjoys staying on top of changing financial law and regulations, but also learning about how to help clients use their resources, financial and otherwise, to live a meaningful life.
- At 6’7” Zach jokes about his ability to see above the fray and help make level-headed decisions (we love that he can reach high shelves in the office.)
- In college, Zach studied abroad in Zambia, focusing on chimpanzee behavior and group dynamics.
- He lives in the Salmon Creek area near WSU Vancouver with his wife, two children, and English bulldog, Penelope.

Amanda knows talking about personal finances can feel very private, and sometimes it can be overwhelming. And that’s exactly why she is here combining her love of people and finance. As a Certified Financial Planner® professional, Amanda considers it a privilege to help guide our clients on a path toward achieving their goals.
Sometimes we don’t exactly know what we think or want until someone asks us pertinent questions, takes time to listen and draws connections about what they’ve heard. Amanda creates space for clients to feel comfortable sharing their values and priorities, so together they build a financial plan that is meaningful and realistic.
Growing up in California, she escaped to the Northwest years ago and still finds pure joy in every waterway she can dip her toes into. Whether it’s swimming, boating, kayaking, SUP’ing, hiking near a waterfall or simply sitting along the shore.
- Amanda started her career working in public accounting and then went on to be a part of several finance teams of local nonprofits.
- On her wish list is learning to horseback ride.
- She enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, occasionally being asked if she is their older sister.

As a Certified Financial Planner® professional, Patricia helps clients plan for tomorrow by taking care of today. With a clear understanding of each client’s unique financial vision, she works to develop a tailored path forward whether buying a home, starting a family, or planning for retirement.
From her perspective, change usually won’t occur unless the “why” is understood. Educating and coaching clients on ways to support their lifestyles without sacrificing their goals is a top priority. She also gives each client the time and attention they deserve to make sound financial decisions and feel confident they are prepared for the future.
Before joining Johnson Bixby in 2017, Patricia worked at Oregon State University in the human resources department. It was here that she learned the ins and outs of retirement benefits and federal compliance.

We give back for a better community.
Whether we are volunteering, sponsoring an event, or sharing our time and talents, our Community Engagement Program unites our efforts so that together, we can make a tangible difference in Clark County.
We focus support on organizations and events that align with our shared values.

If your organization has an event or cause you wish us to support, please review our philanthropic guideposts and then write us an email sharing more.
Four philanthropic guideposts that help guide our giving:
Programs for Positive Change
We believe in programming that is upstream in its approach and strategic in its design. Activities that aim to solve and prevent challenges before they start are in alignment with our companies’ approach and highlighting ways to leverage other sources of support is even better. We ask: how can our support be a catalyst for good?
Community Enhancement
Our community is our home, and we honor the beauty that surrounds us – be it the green landscape, the thriving downtown, or the art and music that bring us joy. We put our efforts to improving our local surroundings.
Empowerment through Leadership
We want to invest in developing local leaders – especially our youth – because in doing so, we give voice to those who need it most and help build a more robust, diverse think tank to help solve our community’s greatest challenges.
Education & Skills for Financial Wellness
At the heart of Johnson Bixby is a commitment to help clients make the most informed choices possible for their financial success. We work to extend our commitment to education to our local community members.
