Planning matters

Meet Debra!

We are excited to introduce Debra Pellati, CTFA, CFP® as our newest Certified Financial Planner™ professional. Debra’s can-do attitude is energizing, and she is excited to start working with our clients – guiding them to their financial goals and dreams.

Debra joins Johnson Bixby with a strong background in the financial industry. She is a dual Canadian and a United States citizen. She holds a Degree in Education, and an MBA along with her Certified Financial Planning designation, CFP®. Debra also holds her Certified Trust Financial Advisor Designation, CTFA, which covers fiduciary and trust activities, financial planning, tax law and planning as well as investment management.

Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, Debra has traveled around the world and found herself making a home in Canada, England, and the Cayman Islands before settling down in Washington state seven years ago.

Her son has recently relocated to Denmark to continue his engineering career with Vestas and her daughter is getting her master’s in creative non-fiction writing at Columbia University in New York City.

Outside of the office, you can find Debra enjoying the abundance of the diverse theatrical and art exhibits in the Vancouver/Portland area or travelling the globe looking for an adventure.

Looking back 25 years ago, Debra would have never imagined she would end up where she is now. Understanding life is not a straight line, when something comes up, she always looks for the opportunity to make the best of it. Her guiding motto is, “Don’t follow your dreams, chase them.” She uses this motto to encourage herself, friends and family to never lose their sense of wonder and dares them to dream big.

Planning for those dreams is a reason Debra strongly believes in the importance of an Annual Review with your Financial Planner. It’s a wonderful time to realign your goals and work through any of the curve balls life may have thrown your way during the year.

Debra is also a true believer of lifelong learning. She is looking into getting her certification in Behavioral Finance. Curious about what that entails? Next time you are at Johnson Bixby, take the opportunity to introduce yourself and ask her about it!
