Planning matters

Gratitude and Greetings from your Johnson Bixby team

It’s been another interesting year and your Johnson Bixby team is full of gratitude and looking forward to 2022 with optimism and hope. We asked our growing team what they are grateful for in the past year and what they are hopeful for in the coming one. Here are our responses, along with a snapshot of your Johnson Bixby team.

We look forward to seeing you in 2022!

Office Management and Reception Services Team

Jennifer Morris, Building Services Coordinator and Client Services

I am grateful for my family, friends and the small community I live in.  I am looking forward to having more freedom in 2022 meaning no mask, regular work setting, normal sporting events and not getting to the grocery store and having to go back to my car to grab a mask.

Karen Marshall, Office Manager

This year more than ever, I am grateful for the wonderful memories I have of time spent with friends and family over the years. Memories of my great-grandparents, born in 1900, who made our family gatherings so warm and special. My own children, now grown and living in California and Texas, always enjoyed and appreciated the family traditions we carried on. All the friends across the street, across the globe, or no longer with us, who shared a meal and a toast. The best gifts have always been time spent together, sharing our joy, storytelling, and looking ahead with hope and optimism.

Your Client Service Team

Mandy Peterson, Client Services Manager

I am thankful for my new nephew born in November and I am looking forward to traveling more (fingers crossed) in 2022!

Haley Smart, Client Services Technical Specialist

I’m grateful for the small things in life that we sometimes forget to appreciate in the midst of our busy everyday lives and looking forward to more gatherings in 2022.

Jeri Boston, Insurance Specialist / Client Services

I am thankful for new babies in my family and getting to travel to see them in person. I am thankful for the blessings of friends, family and staying healthy.

Karen BrownKaren Brown, Client Services

I’m very thankful for life’s blessings, protection, and guidance; good health, my sons and where they are in life, a loving relationship, and friendships. I’m looking forward to experiencing more travel, quality time with others, and hopefully a grandchild within the next few years!

Brigg Wolgamott, Client Services

The unpredictability which came with the past year has shown what a large difference it makes to be part of a consistently supportive community. I am ever thankful for the care and gratitude that has been shown to others during these difficult times.

With 2022 around the corner, I am looking forward to the growth that comes from embracing the ebbs and flows of our daily changing lives. If unprecedented adaptation is one of the themes of the past couple years, then turning the unknown into an opportunity is how I’m choosing to take on the challenges of the new year.

Your Planning Team

Heidi Johnson Bixby, CFP®, CEO & President

This last July marked my milestone of 30 years at Johnson Bixby. Wow, right? Thirty is such a small number relative to the number of clients I have had the privilege of working with over the years. I’m honored to have shared the journey with many of you and be part of a fabulous team. Looking ahead to 2022, I’m excited for in-person meetings and catching up on overdue hugs.

Kim Baker, Director of Financial Planning

Despite my general reluctance to adopt new technology, I would say that I am grateful for all the tech tools that have enabled us to stay connected and entertained over the past couple of years. Ten years ago, we probably wouldn’t have imagined meeting regularly with friends, family and other professionals so regularly via video call, or watching the latest movies via a streaming service on our home screens.

As for things I’m looking forward to in 2022, I am really hoping to resume some level of travel outside the local driving region. Exploring the backroads of Oregon and Washington has been beautiful and interesting, but I am ready to go a little farther afield. Fingers crossed that I won’t need to cancel any of the tentative plans that I’ve already made!

Patricia Spies, CFP®, Planner

I am grateful for my family, now more than ever, they are the heartbeat of my world. This last year has been one of growth both figuratively and literally. I’m looking forward to continuing to go with the flow with all the changes that will be sure to come in 2022.

Amanda Reynolds, CPA, CFP®, Planner

I’m grateful to spend time with family and friends this Christmas, for a friendly and funny pup who makes me laugh, for a job I love, and for a sense of hopefulness as I think about the upcoming year.

Lynn Snyder, CFA, Investment Analyst

I am grateful for my and my family’s good health. I am especially appreciative of my daughters’ teachers, and educators generally, who have managed both virtual and in-person classrooms through difficult and ever-changing conditions. I’m grateful for my hard working and good humored JBA and ITS teammates. Looking forward, I am hopeful that 2022 allows for more casual socializing with friends and colleagues.

Compliance Team

Lana AlvarezLana Alvarez, Compliance/Audit Manager

I’m thankful to be working with such a great team of professionals.

Cindy Staley, Compliance/Client Services

I’m grateful that I work for a company that cares about its clients and employees. I’m also grateful that I work with people who are dedicated and kind.

Ripple Companies (Johnson Bixby and Integrated Tax Services) Support Team

Cyndi Thompson, MS, CFP®, COO/CFO

I’m so grateful that my family is healthy and happy! For 2022, I’m really looking forward to my son and his lovely fiancée getting married and all the wonderful celebrations that are planned!

Vivian Le Cousins, Senior Accountant

I’m grateful for our health, loved ones, making it through another year and a half of this pandemic, the kindness of others, and the small and free pleasures of life.

I’m looking forward to a better 2022 – a day we no longer need to wear a mask and distance ourselves from people – really, it’s just the simple things.

Kristi Koebke, CMO/Brand Strategist

I have a lot to be grateful for – deep, loving relationships, good health (both mind and body) and awesome teammates here at our companies. I’m turning 50 this coming year and I’m looking forward to travel to places I haven’t yet experienced.

Rachel Gorretta, Director of Marketing & Communications

I continue to be thankful for my health and the ability to get outside and enjoy the Pacific Northwest beauty. In 2022, I’m looking forward to more outdoor adventures – whether gardening, hiking or everyday walks around the neighborhood.

Paula Lee, Director of Culture & Employee Experience

I’m grateful for friends that feel like family, and belly laughs. Provision, blue skies, faith and grace. For the smell of coffee in the morning. For new learnings and the ability to deliver great work. For a book that I just can’t put down. For flowers and plants, and events to look forward to. For joy in all circumstances and my porch swing. For good neighbors that watch out for one another. For the feeling of calm and space that only Sunday mornings provide. And for new beginnings. The new year, a new start to the week, a new day.

Hannah Taylor, Event Coordinator

I am grateful for the support of my friends and family. I am grateful that I was able to purchase my first home this year and finally, I am grateful for the strength I have had to get through a really challenging couple years. In 2022, I am looking forward to new adventures and opportunities.
