Planning matters

JBA’s New Year’s Resolutions

As the holiday season culminates this week with New Year’s Eve, it’s normal to start thinking about resolutions or goals for the coming year. This tradition is confirmed by the increased number of phone calls we receive every January from potential clients wanting to schedule.  It’s a time many think about getting their financial affairs in order. In 2018, Johnson Bixby has some exciting goals of our own we’d like to share.

It’s with gratitude that we say, “thank you” to you, our clients, for our continued growth and success which is due in large part to your continued referrals. As mentioned a few weeks ago, the growth of both Johnson Bixby and our tax practice, Integrated Tax Services, has resulted in us outgrowing our existing space at 1201 Main Street. Keep in mind, we are planners! Foreseeing this dilemma, and after spending this last year evaluating options, from moving to another space to remodeling our existing office, it became clear the most cost-effective option is to build on our existing site. Due to the City’s building codes, our existing building will come down for us to build a new 5-story building to meet our needs for both today and into the future. In Summer 2018 we will move to temporary space while the new building is being constructed with completion projected in May 2019.

The new building will provide adequate office space, but more importantly, there will be conference room space to fulfill another goal. We will provide educational opportunities to promote financial literacy – from budgeting, education funding or tax planning to retirement and estate planning – we’ll be offering more workshops to clients and the public.

We will share more details as we have them, giving you plenty of notice of our temporary address next summer along with the blog where you can watch the progress as the new building goes up.

From our family to yours, we wish you the best in 2018!
